Holding a degree in Law from the Catholic University of Porto, the new Executive Director of APIP also has a course in Advanced Management in Energy from AESE Business School and attended an Advanced Management Program by Kellogg Business School and Portuguese Catholic University, among other leadership and academic trainings. Joana Martins Mendes has solid experience in managing legal affairs and corporate and governance issues, having started her career in the telecommunications sector and expanded into the industrial and energy sectors, particularly focusing on mergers and acquisitions and regulatory matters.



Inspired by Law, Energy, Sustainability, ESG, People, and Emotional Intelligence, the new Executive Director of APIP enjoys managing and motivating people and teams to grow and collaborate more dynamically and efficiently, especially in fast-growing environments.


Joana will contribute at APIP to the promotion and to the technical, economic, and social development and progress of the plastics industry, supported by a current approach with a focus on sustainability and environmental preservation.
