Roadmap for Decarbonization of the Plastics Industry
Official Approval
On May 11, 2023, APIP received the final notification of approval, to develop the Roadmap for Decarbonization of the Plastics Industry, submitted in partnership with EY, under the PRR (Component C11 - Decarbonization of the Industry).
The Recovery and Resilience Program (PRR), through Component 11 - Decarbonization of the Industry, integrated into the Climate Transition Dimension, aims to leverage the decarbonization of the industrial and business sector and promote a paradigm shift in resource utilization, implementing measures from the National Energy and Climate Plan (PNEC) 2030 and contributing to accelerate the transition to a carbon-neutral economy in line with national commitments. It is intended, therefore, that the industrial sector necessarily makes a significant contribution to the national emissions reduction target of 45% to 55%.
The Roadmap aims to leverage the decarbonization of the Plastics Industry and promote a paradigm shift in resource utilization by empowering companies in this sector on this issue, thus implementing measures from the PNEC 2030 and contributing to accelerate the transition to a carbon-neutral economy.
