World Oceans Day: The invisible infrastructure that sustains life on Earth
June 8, 2026
The oceans are much more than just a natural boundary. They regulate the climate, produce a significant portion of the oxygen we breathe, support biodiversity, and connect people, economies, and regions.
Protecting this shared heritage requires an integrated vision capable of balancing development, innovation, and the preservation of ecosystems.
At the Plastics Summit - Global Event 2025, this perspective was explored during the panel discussion “Regenerative Ecosystem Architecture: From Cradle to Cradle,” which highlighted the importance of building regenerative solutions grounded in cooperation, science, and shared responsibility.
Because the future of the oceans is built on land.
In the choices we make.
In the systems we develop.
In our ability to work together for a more sustainable future.
